In the Paris region, the real estate market for purchase and rental is tight, which means that demand is generally greater than supply and that goods sell out quickly. Furthermore, the prices are high. However, that does not mean that there is no way to negotiate. However, the ability to negotiate requires a good knowledge of the specificities of the local market.
How the co-ownership works in Paris:
90% of real estate transactions in Paris involve apartments. Being part of condominiums, these accommodations require real knowledge of how they are managed. Ask for the latest minutes of general assembly of co-owners to find out if works are planned. If this is the case, you will have to pay your share according to the concerned lot.
In the Paris Region, houses can be found outside Paris, in the neighbouring departments.
